Sofia Osthed Sponsoring GoFundMe For The Lexie and Ethan Trail
Local Sofia Osthed is fundraising to build a mountain biking and hiking trail in honor of Lexie Fenton and Ethan Fraga, both of whom passed away in a car accident last year. Sofia’s best friend was Lexie, and together, along with Lexie’s twin sister Lauren, they loved to mountain bike together on the Corner Canyon Mountain Biking Team. Sofia hopes that the creation of this trail will be a source of healing for the community while sharing a bit of something that Lexie loved. Because Lexie and Ethan were together in the car, Sofia wants to build a trail for both of them, to include all affected. She says, “I believe this trail will be a source of comfort for those affected by the loss of Lexie and Ethan, including family, friends, and more. I’m actually surprised at how far reaching this tradgedy has affected people-even people far beyond our city of Draper, Utah. This trail can become a great place to have fun and feel close to them…I really believe this trail will bring peace into the hearts of so many people.”
The trail will start off of the Red Potato Trail and end at the BST on the Corner Canyon Trails, just above the Fenton’s and Fraga’s houses. Just off of the trail, there is a spot to rock climb, one of Ethan’s favorite things to do. With any surplus money, a memorial and lookout bench area will be installed, and wild flowers will be planted along the trail.
